How much of your learning material do you bear in mind several years later? Do you remember how difficult it is to learn new material before the exam? Lectorium is a mobile app for studying which is targeted to facilitating the education process for school and university students.
Studying usually has associations with boredom and highbrow textbooks that you have to read for five times to understand the idea. Make away with stereotypes! Lectorium offers the set of easy and understandable video lectures on school and university subjects. Videos can be displayed either in full screen or in learning mode where you can see both the video and the text notes which scroll synchronically, and lecture illustrations as well.
Not every school student can afford a new iPad. At the same time Android tablet market share grew from 38.0% up to 62.6% for the last year. Lectorium was designed for Android to be available for the target audience.
When you make a new service there is always a question: should you make it responsive or create a separate mobile version? It the world of web-design this question is as popular as a chicken-and-egg question.
Lectorium was planned to be mobile. It should be some service that is always at hand. Searching for necessary learning information is often an urgent task to be solved without running from the classroom to the nearest computer. You should always have access to information.
As a result there appeared convenient and simple content application.
Interaction work out
Every screen is designed vertically and horizontally. The interface has three areas: video, text and slides area.
If you play the video the text of the lecture scrolls automatically (the current active fragment is highlighted with colored background) and the corresponding screenshots appear.
All interface elements have corresponding user’s actions based on the capabilities of the mobile device (touchscreen, multi-touch, kinetic scrolling).
